Fresh draws for Express Entry and occupation in demand applicant held by Saskatchewan PNP

Updated: Sep 12, 2019

On June 2019, the Saskatchewan PNP also known as the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, issued fresh Invitations to Apply for provincial nomination to 426 applicants in its categories of Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand immigration sub-categories. From the Occupation In-Demand sub-category, a sum total of 326 applicants received invitations to Apply in this draw, and the left-out amount went to the candidates belonging to the Express Entry Program. But getting such an invitation, involves the applicant following a Canada PR Process, which is a step by step method for you to secure a nomination from one of the most popular Canada PNPs.

In order to be considered for an invitation to apply for a nomination for Canadian permanent residence, via either of the above mentioned sub categories, the very first step in the Canada PR Process is to firstly submit an Expression of Interest with the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program or SINP. The SINP permits Saskatchewan to nominate qualified overseas immigrant workers for Canadian permanent residence via a number of different categories suited to its diverse economic and labor market requirements.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program is nicely aligned with the federal Express Entry system, which is the Canada’s major source of skilled foreign labor. The Express Entry applicants who receive a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan are awarded with an additional 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points and as a result are effectively guaranteed an Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Both the Canada Express Entry and the Occupation In-Demand sub-categories need work experience in one of the 19 occupations listed as in-demand in Saskatchewan among other requirements. Canada express entry applicants who would like to be considered for SINP Express Entry sub category should register with an entirely separate Expression of Interest (EOI) with the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program.

An Expression of Interest comprises of the applicant’s education, work experience, proficiency in English or French, age among many factors, awarding them a score out of 100 points based upon the profile information of the prospective applicant who has applied for Canadian permanent residence. The highest scoring candidates in both Canada Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand pools are then Invited to Apply via the pathway of provincial nomination.

The cutoff score for the June 6 draw was put at 75 for both the sub categories, that was a seven-point decrease from the earlier round of invitations that were held on May 15th, 2019.

In the year of 2019 itself, the Saskatchewan PNP or SINP has issued 898 invitations to apply to Canada Express Entry candidates and 1,196 to Occupation In-Demand applicants.
